Our People

Nicole Ashby

Kia ora! Ko Nicole ahau.

I am passionate about helping neurodiverse kiwi kids.

I am a registered Educational & Developmental Psychologist, as well as a registered Classroom Teacher (primary trained, with two years of teaching secondary mathematics).

My mahi is focused on the young person as an individual - making sense of what's going on, and making an action plan to help improve their learning and life experiences. I also work with the people around the child (their whānau, the school team, and others in their support crew).

My postgraduate studies were at the nexus of education, developmental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. So, I am a real nerd about how brains grow and develop!

The most important parts of my world are my family, my friends, and my cats. I love going on adventures, climbing trees, and learning new things.

Master of Education (EdM) in Mind, Brain and Education - Harvard University (publication)

Clare Barczak

Kia ora! Ko Clare ahau.

I am a registered Educational and Developmental Psychologist trained in New Zealand.

In my university studies I specialised in learning and child development, and my master’s thesis focused on adolescent wellbeing in the era of the internet.

My favourite part about what I do at Wonder Psychology is working together with young people and the adults in their lives to find the small changes that will make a big difference for them.

I like to take a holistic approach to providing behavioural, learning, and emotional support to young people who are struggling at school or at home.

I grew up on the North Shore, where I currently live with my husband and our dog, and in my spare time I enjoy painting, baking, and playing boardgames.

Master of Science (MSc) with Distinction - University of Otago

Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Educational & Developmental Psychology -  Massey University
